Linear, one-directional time might be exactly the kind of construct you're describing, useful precisely because it's scaled to what a body walking to a light switch actually needs, without that usefulness requiring it to be the last word on how the whole underlying reality actually unfolds. That's a healthier relationship to the construct than either fully believing it as absolute truth or dismissing it as mere illusion once you've heard the physics can be stranger than it looks.
